Plagiarism Policy

Statement and Policy Jurnal Ekonomi, Manajemen, Akuntansi, Bisnis Digital, Ekonomi Kreatif, Entrepreneur (JEBDEKER) implements a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of plagiarism and publication malpractice. This policy is binding on all authors submitting articles to JEBDEKER. Definition: Plagiarism is the act of using, imitating, or presenting the language and ideas of other writers as one's own original work without proper quotation and acknowledgment of sources. This includes self-plagiarism.

Originality and Review Policy

  • Originality: The manuscript must be original, not previously published in other media, and not currently under review elsewhere simultaneously (concurrent submission).
  • Source Identification: Any material (text, data, images) taken from other sources must be clearly identified through citations, quotation marks, and proper source attribution.
  • Software Usage: All submitted manuscripts will be checked for similarity using plagiarism detection software Turnitin (or equivalent) before the peer review process.
  • Tolerance Limit: The JEBDEKER journal sets a maximum similarity index of 25%. Manuscripts detected with a similarity level above 25% will be automatically rejected (desk rejected) by the Editor.

Self-Plagiarism Policy Authors must clearly identify and cite any texts or images reproduced from their own previous publications.

  • If self-plagiarism is limited to the Methods section and less than 10% of the total manuscript, it is considered a minor case.
  • If significant self-plagiarism is found (more than 10% but less than half of the manuscript), the case will be treated as moderate plagiarism.
  • If there is significant overlap (identical or nearly identical) with a manuscript published elsewhere that reaches half or more of the paper, this case is considered severe plagiarism.

Sanctions and Corrective Actions If plagiarism is detected, the Editor-in-Chief will take measures according to the severity level detected, guided by the COPE Guidelines:

  • Minor Plagiarism: Official warning and a request for substantial revision.
  • Moderate Plagiarism: Manuscript rejected. The author is prohibited from submitting articles to JEBDEKER for at least one year.
  • Major Plagiarism: Manuscript completely rejected. The Editor will notify the Editorial Board, and the author may be subject to a permanent ban from submitting articles to this journal.
